Solgen Power employed some lock-down defense to hang with perennial power Hickory in a game that went right down to the final seconds. Hector Campas and Bobby Rostenhausler of Solgen Power combined for 16 points and 12 rebounds in the low-scoring defensive struggle. The guys from Hickory did themselves no favor by going a dismal 8-18 from the free-throw line. In the final two minutes, they missed FOUR front ends of one-and-ones. (In the Tucson Basketball League, we don't do double-bonus. Our motto is "You gotta' earn your sh--tuff.") Solgen took advantage of Hickory's poor shooting and cut the lead down from seven to two with a minute to go, but they could get no closer, finally falling by a final score of 47-44.
