Some day, way off in the future when I get old, I'm probably going to have shoulder problems from patting myself on the back, often in congratulations for mastering the art and science of scheduling games for the Tucson Basketball League. Yesterday, with 23 first-round playoff matchups, more than two-thirds of the game ended with a single-digit margin. We had scores of 86-81, 63-61, 54-49, 61-57, and 81-77. On one court alone, four different games were tied with less than a minute to go before one team pulled out the victory.
We had three semifinal games on Sunday. Shake 'N Bake, [Enter Team Name Here], and 4PF will be moving on to their respective Division championship games on December 17th (which, as we all know, is the 120th anniversary of the Wright Brothers' first flight). The other 27 semifinalists will be decided in this Sunday's games. Just a note: The Venue will be holding its annual Christmas Party for its workers, so the venue will be closing at 6:00. That means that our latest game time for Sunday is 5:00. A couple teams had been asking for a night game. There won't be any. Sorry.
