So, we had this game the other day. Middle of the afternoon, so not too early, not too late. Two good teams going at it. A minute goes by, no score. Then two minutes, then four. Pretty soon, I look up and there's under 10 minutes left in the half and it's still 0-0. I thought to myself, "Oh my God! There's 10 Angel Reeses out there!" Both teams finally scored and the game went okay. I'm not identifying the teams because the players may have living relatives who might be shamed into leaving Tucson. Weird, weird game.

The first couple weeks have been brutal. We've had some serious blowouts (not a ton of them, but one is too many). After a couple weeks, I get a good idea of who should be playing whom. My dream is to someday have every game end with a margin of three or fewer. I'll keep trying.

So, the other day, the absolute first game of the day was a forfeit when one of the teams was stuck in Nogales and couldn't make it here in time. Later in the day, we had a team that was participating in a Native tournament somewhere and made it to the finals, That's two forfeits in 47 games (98% success rate) on a holiday weekend. That's pretty good, but I want perfection. 

As mentioned in the orange, there is a weekend youth basketball tournament at the venue, so we don't have as many court/hours as I would like. Next week will be another extravaganza.
