As often happens, the games in the semifinal round of the playoffs offered up several outstanding games. On Court 2, after an easy win by Icy Hots in the first game of the day, the next eight games were decided by an average of six points. Frosty Hesson edged Midday Ballers by one, then TR3 6IXERS beat Shoot Your Shot by five. The last two games of the night--Phantomz over APEX and AZ Knights over Ham--were both decided by four points. I don't want to sound all basketball-y, but several of those outcomes were determined by free-throw shooting (both good and bad).
On Court 3, Bricklayer's Anonymous slipped past Starr Pass Ballers, 50-48, in the first game of the day. Then, there was a stretch where Tucson Product, NOVA, Good Guys, and The Boys won their games by five, three, one, and three points, respectively. It was that kind of day.
We've got some great matchups on Sunday. Frosty Hesson and Hickory, two teams that have each been in the League for more than a decade, will face off for the Division title. It is the 11th time that these two teams have faced each other for a championship and, big surprise, they're 5-5 in previous title games. Congratulations to TR3 6IXERS, who made it to the championship game in their first season in the League. Good luck to all and let's have a great Championship Sunday.
